Government has also increased the authorised capital of BSNL to Rs 2,10,000 crore from Rs 1,50,000 crore
The package includes cash support of Rs 43,964 crore and non-cash support of Rs 1.20 lakh crore
BSNL has shortlisted a TCS and C-DOT led consortium for rolling out 4G network, which will be upgraded to 5G in about a year of placing the order under the contract
The source indicated that the question of whether the spectrum in the auction will be allotted for 20 or 30 years is still an "open issue".
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director PK Purwar said that the company has plans to roll out almost 1.25 lakh 4G mobile sites in 18 months.
