Tribal rights activist Stan Swamy had sought bail on medical grounds and said that he suffers from Parkinson’s disease.

Sudha Bharadwaj, Gautam Navlakha and Hany Babu have filed separate pleas through their lawyer Chandni Chawla seeking access to books and newspapers in prison

The activists currently behind bars in connection with the case include Surendra Gadling, Anand Teltumbde, Hany Babu, Mahesh Raut, Arun Ferreira, Vernon Gonsalves among others

Activist Stan Swamy, who is suffering from various ailments, including Parkinson's disease, was arrested on October 8 by NIA.

The 83-year-old activist was arrested from his residence in Ranchi on October 8 for his alleged involvement in the Elgar Parishad case

The Taloja prison officials say all facilities are being provided to the 83-year-old convict after plea in NIA court.

NPRD also appeals all disability rights organisations, activists to join this campaign and send sippers to Swamy.

The 83-year-old is a Parkinson's patient and is currently housed in Taloja Central Jail hospital.
