The UP BJP chief's remark came following Togadia's demand from the BJP government at the Centre to either enact a law or bring in an ordinance "to fulfill its promise" of building Lord Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
VHP international working president Pravin Togadia said curtailing media's voice in any name was dangerous to citizen rights.
He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had time to meet Pakistan's prime minister, but does not have "the courtesy to meet your childhood friend (Togadia)" .
"Let us sit together, one to one, do the old time heart to heart discussions over cups of simple roadside tea and let us take the nation ahead," Togadia wrote in his letter.
The application under CrPC section 321 (withdrawal from prosecution) was moved way back in 1998 by the then BJP government led by Keshubhai Patel.
Togadia alleged that attempts were being made to frame him in fake cases.
The VHP claimed Togadia (62) was detained by the Rajasthan Police
Seeking capital punishment for convicts in the 2002 carnage, he said the state government should appeal in the Supreme Court before Diwali for the sake of justice to devotees of Lord Ram.
