Haryana reports eight more COVID-19 deaths, 793 fresh cases

Chandigarh, Aug 13 (PTI) The COVID-19 death toll in Haryana reached 511 on Thursday as eight more people succumbed to the disease, while 793 fresh cases pushed the infection tally to 44,817, according to the health department''s daily bulletin.

Three fatalities were reported from Panipat, two from Faridabad and one death each from Gurgaon, Sonipat and Ambala, it said.

Of the 511 deaths in the state, 366 were males and 145 females.

Among the districts which reported fresh cases are Faridabad (136), Panipat (119), Gurugram (78), Ambala (63), Karnal (62), Palwal (51), Sonipat (50), Hisar (43), Panchkula and Kurukshetra (36 each) and Mahendragarh (37), as per the bulletin.

The number of coronavirus cases in Gurgaon crossed the 10,000-mark on Thursday.

While Faridabad has a total of 10,653 COVID-19 cases, Gurugram has 10,030 infections.

At present, there are 6,820 active cases in the state, while 37,486 people have been discharged after recovering from the disease.

Currently, the state''s recovery rate is 83.64 per cent, while the rate of doubling of infections is 30 days. PTI SUN VSD SNE SNE
