Bhawanipatna (Odisha), Sep 17 (PTI) Three members of a family died and two others were seriously injured in an attack by wild bees in Thuamul Rampur area of Kalahandi district, official sources said.

The incident occurred in a forest area near Tevakalam village under Sindhipadar Gram panchayat of Thuamul Rampur block yesterday when the victims were guarding the crops raised by them using shifting cultivation.

A woman, identified as Dahadi Parabhoi (65) and her two grand daughters died in the field in the bee attack, the sources said.

Parabhoi's son Sombaru and daughter-in-law Patmati have been admitted in Thuamul Rampur Community Health center in critical condition, doctors said adding that their condition was improving.
