missed out on five previous occasions. Dame Helen Mirren and Forest Whitaker collected best actress and actor, while
Mexican fairytale Pan's Labyrinth, collected three Academy Awards. Alan Arkin won best supporting actor for
Little Miss Sunshine, which was also best original screenplay.
