After Strikers captain put the Hurricanes into bat, the home team made merry of the flat conditions at the Oval. Ben McDermott (68 not out) and Tim David (33) were their side's stand-out performers as they steered them to a mammoth 214/5 in 20 overs.
In reply, the Strikers started off well with D Arcy Short (41) and skipper Short (52) plundering the Hobart bowlers to all corners of the ground.
However, the away side kept plucking away with wickets at crucial intervals as a late blitz from Jamie Overton (16-ball 30) wasn't enough for the Strikers to help them cross the target of 214.
