About The Film

'One Cut Two Cut' is a story of an innocent arts and craft teacher Gopi and his encounter with a not-so-scary group of kidnappers with a mission. The comedy hostage drama has a satirical undertone to it, as it tried to revisit 'cause with a rebel' philosophy but with the outline of comedy. Even though its a digital release, good focus is given to the background score and music of the film. Director Vamsidhar Bhogaraju has tried to give attention to detail when it comes to the set of the film. The movie has thrilling moments too, but they are inconsistent. The movie's beginning is promising and especially Sait's character introduction. One instantly develops a soft spot for the arts and craft teacher who is gearing up to start his first day at a school. However, the quick change in frames and introduction of other characters don't give enough time to the viewer to connect with Gopi's character. Samyukta Hornad stars as a teacher in the same school and has delivered her part convincingly. Prakash Belawadi is the 'antagonist', named Pruthviraj and can safely be called the shining star of the film. His hate for superstar Amitabh Bachchan is annoying yet entertaining. His character irritates you and somewhere in some corner of your heart also makes you pity him.

What's Hot?
All the characters in the film, leading and supporting, have given good performances. The story is gripping from time to time and is something you can binge on. Sait and Belwandi characters are well defined. They play their part well, generate emotions in you as you go along with them. The background score of the film, even though it's not an action film, surprisingly sets the tone of the film. Clearly, much attention to detail has been given to it. The movie has its high points, thrills which can be enjoyed by the audience. The film is not in Kannada language throughout, making it easier for the audience globally to understand the film. There are certain references to other films and actors which add a punch.

What's Not?
The movie starts off in a promising way, but somewhere it loses it's momentum. As a viewer one does feel disappointed when it becomes difficult to connect with the characters. The introduction of too much character in a haphazard way confuses the viewer. The narrative of the film is not gripping the attention of the audience constantly.  There is a certain regional stereotyping between the kidnappers group, which honestly looked unnecessary considering it will be accessible to viewers in Delhi, Hyderabad and literally everyone in the world.

Verdict:
'One Cut Two Cut' is a film you can watch with your family to pass your time. While there was too much expectation, there was too little delivered. The constant highs and lows in the film look very abrupt. The film seemed to have a lot of potential but left large loopholes in the making. Nonetheless, Gopi's story deserves a chance, Pruthviraj's anger deserves a chance and let's just accept that at the end, art always saves the day!
