9 IT Employees Injured In Noida Lift Crash

Nine IT employees were injured after a lift in a Noida high-rise building fell unexpectedly, officials said on Saturday. 

The lift in Noida Sector 125's River Side Tower, where the men worked, crashed from the 8th floor injuring all nine occupants, PTI reported.

The report said the mishap occurred at 5.45 pm, while the employees of Erasmith Technologies were on their home after work from their office on the 8th floor.

“Five out of the nine were admitted to the ICU after they sustained serious injuries on their arms and legs. The rest are also undergoing treatment and their condition is now stable,” the report said.

"Erasmith Technologies is an IT developer company and its office is located on the building's eighth floor. The injured employees were immediately taken to the private Jaypee Hospital. Two of them are all right while the others are undergoing treatment. None of them is in critical condition," the report quoted police official as having said. 

Those injured have been identified as Piyush Sharma (22), Abhishek Pandit (23), Abhishek Gupta (24), Saurabh Katia (28), Rajat Sharma (29), Shubham Bhardwaj (22), Yashu Sharma (23), Sagar (25) and Abhijeet Singh (23).

Two maintenance workers have been taken into custody, it said.
