Madhya Pradesh won toss and elected to bowl first against Jharkhand
Ishan Kishan hit 30-ball 63 to take his team to 181-run total
Jharkhand then restricted MP to 180 to notch up second straight win
Jharkhand pipped Madhya Pradesh by a solitary run in a thrilling Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy 2025, Super League Group A match at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium in Pune on Sunday (December 14).
Riding captain Ishan Kishan's 30-ball 63, Jharkhand posted a 181-run total and then restricted MP to 180. It was a humdinger in the end, as 13 runs were needed off the last over.
Rajat Patidar's dismissal off the second ball opened the floodgates, and eventually 3 were required off the last ball. Aniket Verma smashed it towards extra cover but was run-out in the quest of completing a second run, that would have taken the match to a Super Over.
Kishan and Co thus notched up their second consecutive win in the second phase of the tournament.
MP and Jharkhand were the two victorious Group A teams in the first round. Ishan Kishan's side chased down a record 236-run target against Punjab, while the Rajat Patidar-led MP defeated Andhra in their Super League opener.
