India's Left-Arm Duo Lead Way
Indian bowlers once again choked the Sri Lankan batting line-up despite a quick start by Chamari Athapaththu (31). The left-arm spin duo of Vaishnavi Sharma and Shree Charani picked up two wickets each to halt the Lanka batters' momentum in the middle-overs and restricted them to a modest 128/9 in 20 overs.
Shafali Verma Lights Up Visakhapatnam
Although the chase was not a big one in front of a strong Indian batting line-up but Shafali Verma's blazing hitting made light work of the chase. She blasted 69 not out of just 34 balls to take India home in just 11.5 overs with 7 wickets in hand.
This was Shafali's 12th half-century in T20I cricket and she's is only player in women's cricket history with so many fifties before the age of 22. England's Stefanie Taylor had 10 half-centuries to her name when she was 22. With this win, India have now strengthened their lead to 2-0 in the series.
