Pennsylvania man John Swartz was left with a lasting scar and an unforgettable horror tale when he encountered a black bear in his garage. Sawrtz miraculously escaped, but not before the bear left its mark.
Sawrtz recounts that it was around 8:45 p.m. last week when Swartz entered his garage to turn off a hose. The absence of light forced him to carefully navigate his way through the space until he reached the spigot. However, as he bent down at knee level, the black bear suddenly turned and sank its teeth into his head.
Sawrtz said he was completely caught off guard and he had absolutely no inkling that there was anything concealed within.
According to Sawrtz, the bear's weight was approximated to be in the range of 250 to 300 pounds as it rummaged through the garbage left in the garage. Swartz told Fox News that the bear pushed him into a shelving unit, and in his attempt to escape to safety, he stumbled over the bear while heading towards the house.
After successfully returning to his house, he promptly had his wife call 911. Subsequently, he was transported to Geisinger Medical Center for medical attention.
Swartz revealed that he was unaware of having tripped over the animal until he reviewed home surveillance footage days later, which partially recorded the incident.
Despite bearing paw marks on his shoulders and sustaining wounds on his head, Swartz mentioned that his condition has improved.
Sawrtz has received a gash on his forehead and a deep one in the center of head.
He mentioned that typically, it's taken down to the end of the driveway in the evening, ready for Friday morning pickup. However, due to the rain that evening, it stayed there, and unfortunately, that's exactly what attracted the bear.
