Pakistan and Sri Lanka's ICC Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 campaign has come to an end after their final league stage match against one another got abandoned due to excessive rain in Colombo. Both the sides were looking to conclude the tournament with a victory but weather gods had other plans.

The two teams, who exited the World Cup after disappointing starts, shared a point each in Colombo and will finish at the bottom half of the table.

The match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka was scheduled for a 3:00PM start but was delayed due to rain. When the clouds cleared, the toss took place and Chamari Athapaththu's side were bowling first in Colombo.

However, midway through the 3rd over, rain came down ferociously and the Umpires, after waiting for almost an hour, decided to call the match off.

Pakistan will be particularly disappointed with the outcome as they were hoping claim their first victory of the Women's World Cup against Sri Lanka. The Women in Green will finish their campaign in the 7th position with 3 points after enduring 4 losses and seeing the other 3 matches get washed out completely.

Sri Lanka did win a game against Bangladesh but they will be equally frustrated with the way things panned out, losing 3 matches and also seeing 3 turning out to be washouts. The Lankans could have a 5th place finish in the table with 5 points, only if England are able to beat New Zealand on Sunday.
