Khalistan protagonist Jagjit Singh Chauhan arrived amidst secrecy in NewDelhi early today after 21 years' stay in Britain withsources close to him stating that he would come out in theopen after the hearing on his bail application in thePunjab and Haryana Court here.

Confirming Chauhan's arrival, his counsel said that hispublic appearance would depend on the outcome of the bail applicationwhich is likely to be heard later today. He is in Delhi,but I cannot reveal further details, the counsel said.

Sources said the Sikh separatist leader arrived by a BritishAirways flight. He travelled as a sick passenger and reportedlycame on a wheel chair. Chauhan was also dressed up in sucha way so as to hide his real identity.

The Sikh separatist leader had yesterday filed another applicationin the Punjab and Haryana High Court for anticipatory bailor seven days' notice it at all he was to be arrested.

Chauhan feared arrest as the government had stated earlierin the court that he had announced the formation of Khalistan,opened consulates in other countries and issued passportsand currency of Khalistan, the petition said adding tilldate no case has been registered against him.

The court had on June 13 dismissed a similar application byhim.

Chauhan's wife unaware: Meanwhile, Charanjit Kaur, wife of theseparatist Sikh leader expressed ignorance about his whereabouts.

"My husband has so far not contacted me and I have no information abouthis arrival," Charanjit Kaur told PTI here.

"Till Friday last I was with my husband in London, she said adding itwas she who collected the travel documents of Chauhan from the high commissionthere. Both of us had planned to return to India together last Saturday, but itfailed to materialise due to non-confirmation of tickets," she said.

"I came to know about his arrival from media only as my husband has notyet contacted me," Charanjit Kaur, who returned to India last Friday, said.

He will either go to Tanda in Hoshiarpur or come toMohali, near here, shesaid adding, he had frequent chest pain, which worried her.
