Jonquel Jones returned from an ankle injury to score a team-high 18 points, and the New York Liberty beat the Indiana Fever 98-84 on Tuesday.
Indiana star guard Caitlin Clark sat out with the same groin injury that prevented her from participating in the WNBA All-Star game.
Jones, who last played over a month ago, also added nine rebounds and a blocked shot. She finished 5 for 13 from the field and 3 of 7 from 3-point range as the Liberty won their fourth consecutive game.
Breanna Stewart and Leonie Fiebich each added 17 points for East-leading New York (16-6), while Sabrina Ionescu finished with 13 points and nine assists.
Kelsey Mitchell led the Fever (12-12) with 29 points, but Indiana’s struggles without Clark continued, as last season’s Rookie of the Year missed her 11th game of the season.
Aliyah Boston finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds and six assists, while Sophie Cunningham made five 3-pointers.
League-leading Lynx stay perfect at home
Napheesa Collier and Kayla McBride each scored 19 points, and the Minnesota Lynx cruised past the Chicago Sky 91-68 to improve to 13-0 in home games this season.
Collier, the WNBA’s leading scorer and one of the captains in Saturday’s All-Star game, also added eight rebounds and four assists for the Lynx (21-4).
Minnesota didn’t have its best shooting night – 44.3% from the floor and 31.0% from 3-point range – but the Lynx forced 21 turnovers and committed just eight.
Sky All-Star Angel Reese finished with 11 points and 11 rebounds, but she committed nine turnovers.
Kia Nurse led Chicago (7-16) with 16 points and grabbed eight rebounds.
Bueckers extends scoring streak in win
Arike Ogunbowale scored a team-high 20 points, rookie Paige Bueckers added 14 and the Dallas Wings beat the short-handed Seattle Storm 87-63.
Bueckers, the No. 1 overall pick, has scored in double figures in 19 straight games to begin her career. She also had six assists, tying Caitlin Clark’s WNBA record for the fastest to 300 points and 100 assists.
Dallas (7-17) got 10 points, six rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots from Haley Jones.
Seattle (14-10), playing without leading scorer Skylar Diggins due to personal reasons, led by two at half-time, but Dallas blew the game open with a 32-15 third quarter.
Nneka Ogwumike scored 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting for the Storm, but the team struggled without Diggins initiating the offence.
Seattle shot 30.7% from the field and 19.0% from 3-point range.
