A Muslim man lost his life following a brutal assault by unidentified individuals in Northeast Delhi yesterday, stemming from suspicions of theft. According to the police, Israr Ahmed, a 26-year-old, was bound to a pole and subjected to a severe beating with sticks in the Nand Nagri area yesterday morning, as he was accused of theft.

The widely circulated video of the incident displays Israr restrained to the pole while the men around take turns striking him with sticks. The footage reveals Israr crying out in pain and pleading, yet the attackers relentlessly continued to beat him.

Abdul Wajid, Israr's father, informed the police that a neighbor subsequently brought his injured son home and conveyed the details of the incident. Upon arriving home, Mr. Wajid discovered numerous injury marks on Israr's body.

Regrettably, his son passed away at home before they could transport him to a hospital. Police have denied any communal angle and stated that initial investigations indicate that the individuals responsible for the attack belonged to different communities.

"We will arrest them soon," officials said, as reproted by NDTV
