Western Alaska in the United States has been hit with flooding that has damaged buildings and prompted evacuations. Forecasts have warned that parts of the state could see worst flooding in the past 50 years. CNN reported that around 450 residents have been forced to seek shelter away from their residences. Remnants of Typhoon Merbok moving into the Bering Sea region is behind the flooding and the high winds in the region.
