Former Manchester United, Chelsea Boss Jose Mourinho Provides Future Update Amid Expiring Roma Contract

Formerly of Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter Milan, Jose Mourinho has addressed the uncertainty surrounding his future as the head coach of Italian Serie A side AS Roma. Mourinho's contract will expire at the end of the season and he has been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia

AS Roma head coach Jose Mourinho has, once again, reiterated that his future remains up in the air with his contract set to expire at the end of the season. Mourinho joined Roma in 2021 after a brief stint at Tottenham Hotspur; he has since led them to a UEFA Europa League final and a UEFA Europa Conference League triumph. (Football News)

"I still don’t know if I’m gonna stay at the club," Mourinho told TG1. 

"I didn’t speak to the owners about that, so I can’t answer about my future."

Among the rumoured suitors for the former Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Inter Milan boss are Saudi Arabia. Having attempted to attract Europe's best players and coaches over the summer, Saudi, inevitably, were linked with Mourinho - rumours that were recently addressed by Saudi Pro League's vice-chairman Saad Al Lazeez.

“I can’t answer this question directly,” He told TVPlay when quizzed about the authenticity of the Mourinho to Saudi rumours.

“However, it’s common knowledge that we’re interested in the best. There’s many of them out there.”

Having begun his managerial career with SL Benfica, Jose Mourinho gained notoreity with rivals FC Porto, whom he led to an unprecedented UEFA Champions League win in 2004. He later enjoyed domestic success with Chelsea and Real Madrid, as well as continental triumphs with Inter Milan and Manchester United.
