The match began with Sunrisers Eastern Cape winning the toss and choosing to bat first against Joburg Super Kings. However, their decision quickly backfired as they lost four wickets for a duck in the early overs, with three of those wickets falling to Lutho Sipamla.

In total, five batters were dismissed without scoring, leading to a sluggish start for the defending champions.

Sunrisers Eastern Cape were bowled out for a just 118. When Hardus Viljoen sent Aiden Markram for a duck, the visitors were left reeling at 17/4 by the fourth over, with all four batters failing to score.

David Bedingham and Tristan Stubbs managed to steady the ship with a fifty-run partnership, but it was a dismal start for the defending champions.

JSK's bowlers, spearheaded by Sipamla (3 wickets) and Viljoen (4 wickets), tore through the SEC batting lineup.

With the chase set, Devon Conway's composed 76* off 56 balls, supported by Wihan Lubbe, guided JSK to a dominant victory in just 14 overs.

The win not only sealed a commanding 9-wicket triumph but also ended their three-match losing streak and got them bonus point.
