What makes Inomi different from other career centres?
We offer comprehensive career guidance, from recognition and building to help with college admissions; none of which is set in stone.
Inomi = ‘I know me’.
Finding and building a career starts with knowing yourself—your interests, abilities and goals, and we start there.
Why Inomi now?
It’s been in the pipeline for a while, but with more and more kids seeking colleges abroad, it’s easier to fly.
What is success?
At 30, if you wake up happy, enjoy going to work, and aren’t constantly waiting for the weekend, that’s it.
How does Inomi ensure this kind of success?
Self-actualisation and self-discovery. The kid must discover what s/he is good at and what s/he loves doing.
You talk about desire and ability, along with demand and reality. Aren’t there cases where the two groups are exclusive?
In such cases we advise a financially viable career near to the kid’s choice.
Inomi opens to kids at the age of 13. Do you think it is too young an age to start?
At 13, we do not invest in an intensive program. We only look at building five careers for the child to explore.
How do you come down to one career that a kid follows?
There are many choices that we narrow down by games and tests. It’s about money, meaning and mastery.
Any interesting stories?
Recently we met with a kid who wanted to be in the technical field but hated offices. His brother was a CA and his parents wanted that. We found merchant navy might fit him better!
How did you find your career?
Wanting to be in this career was an afterthought of realising how happy I was doing what I was doing and how not many people have that.
