An Indian Airforce fighter aircraft of the Churu district of Rajasthan on Wednesday. Indian Airforce has sent choppers to the crash site, said defence sources.
The aircraft was a twin-seater variant of Jaguar fighter jet. The Aircraft had taken of from Suratgarh air base with two pilots on board. Police teams were sent to the spot to assess the situation and carry out search and rescue operations, reported ANI.
Both pilots lost their lives in the fatal accident. No damage to civil property was reported.
"An IAF Jaguar Trainer aircraft met with an accident during a routine training mission and crashed near Churu in Rajasthan, today. Both pilots sustained fatal injuries in the accident. No damage to any civil property has been reported. IAF deeply regrets the loss of lives and stands firmly with the bereaved families in this time of grief. A court of inquiry has been constituted, to ascertain the cause of the accident," posted in the official X account of Indian Airforce.
