I’m quite selective about my reading, but one of the reasons I love Outlook magazine is that it has a certain quality of being open-minded. It does not appear to have a fixed, pre-determined set of views to project. This lends it a certain kind of vibrancy. I find it very flexible in terms of the perspectives it presents, giving equal weight to different voices. This is what gives it some credibility, which I think is crucial for a newsmagazine. And credibility and objectivity are qualities I value as far as the medium of news is concerned. Unfortunately, I often find that these qualities are becoming rarer in the way news is presented by various media today. So, it is very encouraging when a newspaper or a newsmagazine at least tries to uphold the values of journalism. Outlook also has a wide selection of articles which are interestingly presented and the coverage is in-depth and analytical. But what makes its reading truly worthwhile is that Outlook magazine has managed to maintain its candour.
