Tour De France 2022: Jonas Vingegaard Crowned Champion As Jasper Philipsen Wins Final Stage - In Pics

Denmark's Team Jumbo–Visma rider Jonas Vingegaard won his first Tour de France title on Sunday even as Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin–Deceuninck) of Belgium claimed Stage 21 (Paris La Defense Arena to Champs-Elysees, 116 km). Vingegaard, 25, beat defending champion Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) of Slovenia by two minutes 43 seconds in the general classification. Vingegaard also won the mountains classification with 72 points. Pogacar, still 23, claimed the young rider classification by 57 minutes and 34 seconds, ahead of Briton Tom Pidcock (Ineos Grenadiers). Belgian Wout van Aert (Team Jumbo–Visma) won the points classification. His tally of 480 is 194 more than the second-placed and compatriot Jasper Philipsen (Alpecin–Deceuninck). Manchester-based Ineos Grenadiers, formerly Team Sky, took the team honours.
