Parvez Hossain Emon's unbeaten 56 guided Bangladesh to a seven-wicket win over Pakistan in the first T20I of the series, after the tourists were skittled for a mere 110 runs.
In Dhaka for the first of three 20-over matches, Pakistan had eight batters – including five of their top six – fail to hit double figures in a dismal display.
Fakhar Zaman's knock of 44 anchored their innings, but he was one of three Pakistan players to be run out, while Taskin Ahmed captured figures of 3-22.
Taskin had a golden chance to account for Fakhar in the first over but spilled an easy catch, though he recovered to remove Saim Ayub (six) in the second, then finished Pakistan's miserable innings by accounting for Faheem Ashraf (five) and Abbas Afridi (22) in the last over.
Set a target of 111, Bangladesh initially wobbled as Tanzid Hasan (one) fell to Pakistan debutant Salman Mirza in the first over, and Salman took his second wicket in the 20-over format soon afterwards, as Khushdil Shah took Litton Das with a spectacular catch (one).
However, 10 overs passed before Pakistan captured their third wicket, with Towhid Hridoy being cleaned up by Afridi for 36.
Bangladesh were already within sight of victory by that point, though, and helped by Parvez hitting three fours and five maximums, they cruised over the line with 27 balls in hand.
Data Debrief: Parvez guides Bangladesh home
Parvez's knock was his third-best score in T20Is, having previously hit 100 against the United Arab Emirates in May and 66 versus Pakistan in early June.
It has been a case of feast or famine for Parvez against Pakistan, with his other two T20Is against them yielding scores of just four and eight.
While Taskin captured three wickets, Bangladesh also got a spellbinding performance from Mustafizur Rahman, who bowled four overs and conceded just six runs for two wickets.
