Which phone do you have?

The iPhone 4.

How many have you changed so far?

Once in two years.

To make calls, check mail, and Apple’s Facetime option.

Who do you call the most?

My wife and the people who work for me at the farm.

How many calls do you make in a day?

About 10.

Has it helped your business?

My hospitality business survives on my phone. We don’t take any online bookings, it’s all done over the phone, since it helps me filter our guests.

Has it ever failed you?

When we were stranded in a forest reserve and our jeep got stuck and there was no signal. We had to walk through water for about three kms. But it was fun.

Do you think it controls you?

Sometimes, yes.

What’s your worst lie on the phone?

When people call and put you in a spot by asking “Do you recognise my voice?” When I can’t recognise them, I have to be polite and say I can’t hear you.

What kind of photos do you like taking on your phone?

Family, farm, friends, lots of clicks that remind me of good times.

Your ringtone?

A Dire Straits number.

Which mobile app do you use the most?

Facetime, which is a great way to get acquainted with my prospective clients.

Do you listen to music, watch movies, access news on the mobile?

I’ve got some music iTunes.

How much would you spend on a new phone?

About Rs 20,000.

Yo Yo Honey Singh, the popular rapper, is from your town, Hoshiarpur.

I think his music is pretty great, but he needs to get decent with his lyrics!
