The Bollywood superstar was soon discharged after receiving primary treatment at the KD Hospital in Ahmedabad.

Khan had arrived in the city ahead of his team's KKR's match against SRH and was staying there.

“Actor Shah Rukh Khan was admitted to K D Hospital after suffering from a heat stroke," Ahmedabad (Rural) Superintendent of Police Om Prakash Jat said.

Security has been tightened around the hospital, they said.

The actor's friend and actress Juhi Chawla visited the actor at the hospital. An official statement from the hospital is expected soon, news agency IANS reported.

Temperatures have been rising throughout the country with the Indian summer season reaching its peak around this time.

Ahmedabad recorded a maximum temperature of 45.2 degrees Celsius on Tuesday. It rose to 45.9 degrees on Wednesday.

KKR on Tuesday entered their fourth IPL final as they defeated SRH in a one-sided encounter.

Mitchell Starc-powered Kolkata Knight Riders' juggernaut rolled into the IPL final as the two-time champions produced a ruthless performance against Sunrisers Hyderabad for an eight-wicket win in Qualifier 1

Starc produced a stunning opening burst of three wickets in the powerplay to break the back of SRH’s dangerous batting.

They were eventually shot out for a mere 159 in 19.3 overs with Rahul Tripathi scoring a vital 55 while Heinrich Klaasen (32) and Pat Cummins (30) also fought hard.

On a benign wicket in steaming hot conditions, SRH’s fight petered out as KKR knocked off the innocuous 160-run target in a mere 13.4 overs with skipper Shreyas Iyer (58 not out off 24) and Venkatesh Iyer (51 not out off 28) taking them over the line.
