Australia created a world record in women's 800 freestyle relay in the pool on Sunday even as 28 medals events were held on day 3 of the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham. Madison Wilson, Kiah Melverton, Mollie O’Callaghan and Ariarne Titmus recorded 7:39.29 to claim the gold medal and break the world record of 7:40.33 set by China in the Tokyo Olympics. Aussies also continued to lead the tally with 52 medals (22 gold, 13 silver and 17 bronze). England are second with 34, while New Zealand are third with 19.
