Whose Land Is It?
- Documents with the farmers (Survey No. 702) in Daulatpur village, Barabanki, establish their ownership. Bachchan claimed he owned 1.25 hectares.
- The rules are clear that government land like Survey No. 702 can only be allotted to a Dalit or a landless daily wage earner who must be a resident of the village
- Even if the land had been allotted to Bachchan, he should have got a consolidation order. No order exists.
- Only the fudged records of Barabanki district office has Amitabh's name. The tehsil records do not.
- Barabanki DM's report revealed the entry against Bachchan's name was in a different handwriting and ink-confirming suspicions of forged records
