The 22-time Grand Slam champion was hurt when his racquet bounced back off the court as he stretched for a ball, needing a medical timeout to attend to his bloodied nose. The Spaniard however won his match against Fabio Fognini of Italy in four sets (2-6, 6-4, 6-2, 6-1).
