USA got one goal back in the 76th minute as Haji Wright scored from a Christian Pulisic cut back. Some hopes had risen for USA after Wright’s goal but that were quashed in the 81st minute as Dumfries scored a wonderful volley to restore the two goal advantage. It was a clinical performance from Netherlands as Louis van Gaal’s side progressed to the quarter finals of the FIFA World Cup 2022.
