FIFA World Cup 2022: Marcus Rashford Brace Vs Wales Confirms England’s Top Spot In the Group – In Pics

England needed just a draw against Wales to ensure their progress to the round of 16. England were understandably the better side as they won 3-0 thanks to a brace from Marcus Rashford. The first half ended as 0-0 as England were better committed to the cause than an uninspired Wales side. The Welsh side had been successful in keeping England out of the goal but needed more assistance in the attack to put any dents on England’s defence. In the 50th minute, Rashford opened the scoring for the Three Lions from a 20 yard free kick, with the Manchester United player beautifully side footing a shot past Danny Ward in the top right corner. Just 98 seconds after the first goal, Phil Foden scored the second goal of the evening, courtesy of a low cross from Harry Kane in the six yard box where Foden was arriving and guiding the ball home. Rashford scored his second in the 68th minute to end the affair and help England cruise past Wales. England will now face Senegal in the round of 16.
