PDP President Mehbooba Mufti criticized the BJP, accusing them of diverting attention by raising issues such as halal-certified products and hijab. Mufti asserted that the BJP has failed to deliver on its promises, including the commitment to provide two crore jobs and Rs 15 lakh to each citizen. She highlighted the challenges faced by the poor, who, despite promises of housing, find themselves below the poverty line, as reported by PTI.

Mufti expressed concern over the loss of lives in the recent Rajouri encounter, describing it as "sad and unfortunate." She questioned the BJP's claim that the situation in Jammu and Kashmir is normal, citing the ongoing challenges faced by security personnel and Kashmiri youth.

Regarding the remarks made by some PDP leaders in Rajouri against National Conference founder Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah, Mufti distanced herself and the party from those statements. She emphasized Sheikh Sahib's importance as a respected and tall leader, expressing regret for the bitter words exchanged.
