Undeterred, Rodrygo slips a perfect pass to Joelinton, who breaks free and races toward goal. But under pressure from a defender, his shot flies wildly off target. A golden opportunity gone begging for Brazil, they’ll need to be sharper if they want to turn this around!

Unbelievable stuff! Japan are back on level terms after a sensational second-half fightback. The ball is swung in from the right, whipping across the box, and Nakamura lashes a fierce shot, Brazilian defender Fabricio Bruno wildly misjudges it and deflects it into his own net! It’s officially credited to Nakamura, but Bruno’s error is glaring, especially after his earlier mistake. Regardless, Japan roar with joy, their unbeaten home streak lives on, and the match is wide open once again! What a turnaround!

Slick one-touch play at the edge of the box unlocks the defence and Paulo Henrique darts through before guiding a stunning first-time finish past Kion Suzuki with the outside of his boot. Ice-cold, ruthless, world-class—Brazil draw first blood in Tokyo!

Brazil carve Japan open from a quick throw as Vini Jr slips a clever reverse ball to Martinelli, who keeps it in on the by-line, but Kion Suzuki dives to cut out the low cross. Seconds later Japan explode forward – Ritsu Doan dances past his man and Kubo flashes it across goal, where Ayase Ueda stretches but pokes it inches wide from close range! Massive chance wasted!

Japan growing into this nicely! Daichi Kamada flies in with a superb sliding challenge on the edge of the Brazil box to win it cleanly, and Kaishu Sano wastes no time unleashing a rocket. It takes a wicked deflection, looping dangerously in the air, but luckily for Brazil it drops safely into Hugo Souza’s gloves. A warning for the Selecão!

First real chance of the night! A sloppy clearance from Tsuyoshi Watanabe lands straight at Gabriel Martinelli’s feet and the Arsenal winger explodes into the box. He drives in from the right and whips a curling effort across goal, but it skims past the far post. Brazil getting closer!

Bright start here as Brazil take control early, zipping the ball around confidently before Luiz Henrique flashes some flair with a slick step-over down the right to trouble the Japan defence. But the hosts bite back with aggressive pressing, forcing the Brazilian backline into rushed passes. Takefusa Kubo snaps in to win possession high up the pitch, raising the noise inside the stadium, but he’s quickly shut down by a wall of yellow shirts. Lively tempo already!
