Mobile phones will be one-stop gadgets for voice, information, entertainment. The Nokia-N 95,below, here can edit images

Fittingly, Nokia, with its 79 per cent market share, has split its offerings in four categories (Live, Connect, Explore, Achieve) to cater to all users: from newcomers to enterprise-level users. Motorola, the number two, realigned its strategy 18 months ago by launching handsets with enhanced multimedia capabilities and styling. It introduced Sudoku in one model. Says Mathias, "It's a big hit but we'll keep changing our offerings looking at people's moods and needs." All this will trickle down to the masses as handset prices plummet, and more apps turn up on low-priced models. With network costs coming down and TRAI working towards reducing 3G and other access charges, more users are assured.
