Airports
Mukesh plans to build a cargo airport at the Haryana SEZ. Anil's plans in this sector could take a hit in the future. Although Anil has offered to build the airport, Mukesh is likely to call for open bids from interested parties. If Mukesh is able to successfully implement the project, he might decide to also bid for future commercial airports.
Power
Mukesh is also setting up a 2,000-MW captive power plant at the Haryana SEZ. But the capacity that's envisaged will leave him with enough surplus power. In case, future policies allow sale of power from SEZs to outside parties, Mukesh will get a strong toehold in the power sector and will be able to compete openly with Anil's Reliance Energy.
Other Fuels
Anil and Mukesh have bid for the ten coal-bed methane blocks, where the government invited private players. Sources say Anil has won four of them, while Mukesh has lost out in all the blocks that he was interested in. This could result in another battle between the two brothers, as Mukesh tries to make up for his failure this time.
