'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2': Tom Cruise Starrer Postponed To 2025 Amid Actors' Strike

Paramount Pictures has set a new release date for 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part Two, that was scheduled to release on June 28, 2024.

'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part 2', the eighth instalment of the franchise has been postponed to 2025 amid the ongoing actors' strike in Hollywood. Yes, you read it right. The Tom Cruise starrer will not be released next year. 

As per a report in Variety, Paramount Pictures has set a new release date. 'Mission Impossible: Dead Reckoning Part Two, that was scheduled to release on June 28 will now release on May 23, 2025.

'Dead Reckoning Part One' released in July this year and it grossed $567.5 million worldwide. However, the film did not beat its 2018 instalment, 'Fallout', which collected $791.7 million globally. 'Dead Reckoning Part One' received great reviews from both the audience and the critics.

The American spy action film is directed by Christopher McQuarrie. It also stars Simon Pegg, Vanessa Kirby, Ving Rhames, Henry Czerny, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Hayley Atwell and Shea Whigham among others.

The ongoing Hollywood actors' strike has affected the release dates of several films. Even :Dune: Part Two' has been postponed to March. Also, Marvel movies have also faced a delay in their release. 'Venom 3' and 'Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse' are also delayed.

'A Quiet Place: Day One', which is a prequel to the post-apocalyptic horror franchise, is also pushed from March to June 28.

Meanwhile, negotiations between the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists (SAG-AFTRA) and the studios will resume October on 24.
