When people refer to me as the "father of Bhavna" or the one who "built it from the ground up," I smile. It’s a compliment, but the truth is, Bhavna wasn’t built in ten years. It’s the result of a lifetime spent adapting to change, learning hard lessons, and staying anchored to one core belief: when the tides shift, you either ride the wave or get swept away.

A Journey Rooted in Change

Like many immigrants, I came to the United States with little more than hope and a deep belief in the power of education. I earned my degrees, but my real education came from working four decades in the tech industry, climbing from engineer to executive and learning to lead in an industry that never stands still.

Bhavna didn’t begin with a grand strategy. It came together over years, shaped by real-world experience, constant reinvention, and the people who shared that journey with me.

The Pillars That Hold Us Up

If there's one thing I've learned, it's that change is not just inevitable, it's necessary. Some changes are gradual; others come like a wave. Bhavna was built to ride those waves, and three key values have kept us steady:

  • People come first. No amount of technology can replace passion, creativity, and human connection.

  • Execution is everything. Ideas are only as good as their consistent delivery.

  • Agility means survival. The faster we adapt, the stronger we lead.

Meeting the AI Moment

Today, we face a massive wave i.e. Artificial Intelligence. We've been through revolutions before from mainframes to cloud, but AI is different. It's changing not just how we work, but how we think. Our challenge now is not just to adopt AI, but to use it to empower people, not replace them.

“AI won’t replace leaders who know how to use it and stay human at the core.”
Uno Mehta, Founder and CEO, Bhavna

Building for the Long Term

At Bhavna, leadership is all about putting people and customers at the center of everything we do because without them, we wouldn’t exist. It’s about focusing on what truly matters: delivering real value, not chasing flashy trends. Quality isn’t just about the code we write, but also about the trust we build and the promises we keep.

Being a leader also means having honest conversations, even when they’re tough. It means staying curious enough about technology to understand where things are heading even if I’m not the one doing the coding. And most importantly, it means staying flexible, because what works today might not work tomorrow and that’s okay.

In the end, technology alone won’t keep us ahead. Clients become partners when you deliver real value. People become family when you invest in their growth. Innovation becomes culture when your team sees change as opportunity, not a threat.

That’s how we ride the wave, and keep building something that matters, not just for a decade, but for decades to come.

A Humbling Honour

To our great pride, I was awarded the "CEO of the Decade" at the Outlook Business Entrepreneurial Awards held at Taj, Bangalore. It is truly an honour to be part of such a talented and visionary group of leaders. This award is for my Bhavna family employees, clients, friends, and loved ones who believed in something bigger and built it together.
