New Zealand skipper Tom Latham was full of praise for his spinners, Mitchell Santner and Rachin Ravindra, as he stated that they were outstanding against their 99-run win over the Netherlands. The Black Caps put on a dominating display as they beat the Netherlands at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad and script their second win in the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup 2023. Post game, Latham said that he was trying to be proactive with the changes but also insisted that his bowlers were fantastic against the Dutch. Scott Edwards-led Netherlands were bowled out for 223 in reply to New Zealand's 322 for seven.

“We would have bowled. We did a great job with the bat. We managed to build partnerships. Put a great score on the board and the bowlers did a fantastic job. Partnership after partnership allowed us to go into the death a little bit earlier. I tried to be proactive with the changes,” said Latham.

“The spinners were outstanding. Mitch got the rewards. The big boys did a good job upfront. Great to see Lockie back. Every ground you go to, it's about adapting. We are not too far away from having the full squad available,” Latham added.

With this win, New Zealand moved to the top of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 points table. Latham-led side have a brilliant net run rate of +1.958, thanks to their brillaint 9-wicket win over England in the opening fixture.

With two wins, the Kiwis' next fixture is against Bangladesh, with the two sides set to clash at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai on October 13.
