Kohli wore the old kit that had the three white stripes of their shirt sponsor Adidas on both shoulders rather than the Indian World Cup jersey that bears the tricolour.
The 34-year-old soon realised his mistake and made his way to the dressing room to change back to the right jersey. He then made his way to the field wearing the correct jersey as India won the toss and opted to bowl first against arch-rivals Pakistan in match 12 of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023.
