The referee blows the whistle, and Chhangte gets the ball rolling for India to get the AFC Asian Cup qualifier underway! One last change for the Blue Tigers' to get a win in the third round against a strong opponent.

A long throw from the right by Bheke finds i's way into the box. Three Indian players attack but fail to get a solid header on the ball. Singapore clear with some trouble, and Gurpreet then makes a clearance that turns into a shot on target.

RYAN. WILLIAMS. IS. HERE!!!!! What a sublime move from India down the right flank, with the ball finding Manvir. He plays a terrific low cross that evades the Hong Kong defender, and Williams hits it first time to find the back of the net. The Kochi crowd erupts in joy!!

Liston makes a run on the left that would have made Neymar proud. He nutmegs a Hong Kong player before holding off against two defenders. He tees up Manvir, but the attacker slips and commits a foul. Still, brilliant work from India.

Excellent play from India, who look like a different team tonight. Chhangte wins the ball and plays it towards Williams. He returns the ball, and Chhangte then gets it back from Manvir. However, just as he is about the pull the trigger, a Hong Kong defender comes sliding in. A corner for the Blue Tigers.

After a corner by Hong Kong is cleared, India break with pace at the other end. Manvir and Williams link up well on the left, and the latter finds Apuia in the middle. The midfielder has a thumping strike, but it goes wide of the post. Time for the first drinks break.

With India dominating posession, a rare sight of goal for Hong Kong as Sun takes a snap shot. However, it goes wide of Gurpreet's goal, who is not worried. Khalid Jamil will be willing his side on to get a second goal before the break.

With Hong Kong finding their footing in the contest, India are trying to slow down the pace of the game, still enjoying more of the ball for now. Abhishek's good lofted ball into the box finds Liston, who can't plant a solid header. Alexander, who also challenged for the ball, looks to have hurt himself and is tended to by the physios.

A searing run by Liston is stopped by Bleda, who comes sliding in and catches the Indina player on the heel, earning himself a yellow card. Chhangte takes the resulting free-kick, but it's cleared by Hong Kong. The referee blows his whistle to signal half time.

Seems like once change at the break for Singapore, who get the second half underway in Kochi. Oliver is off, with Luis coming on in his place as the Dragons trail by Williams' early goal. For India, the focus will be on avoiding the wooden spoon.

A strong tackle on Williams by Alexander sets the tone for the second half. It will be gritty and physical, with Hong Kong not going down without a fight. Meanwhile, Apuia turns on the Samba mode, bouncing the ball on his chest to keep possession.

Akash Mishra with a blinder to double India's advantage!! Bheke's long throw from the left bounces off a Hong Kong defender, and it falls to Akash. Despite being off-balance, he hits it from an acute angle, and somehow finds the roof of the net.

Leung goes down near the half-way line in pain. Seems to be an issue with his ligament, as the centre-back hobbles off the pitch. The physios are tending to him, but it doesn't look like Leung will be able to continue. India resume the match.

Hong Kong pull one back through Everton. The Brazil-born attacker is played through between the two defenders by Braunshtain, and Everton makes no mistake with a grounded shot that beats Gurpreet. Yet again, no clean sheet for the Blue Tigers.

This is not the sight that India wanted to see. Ryan Williams goes down holding the side of his thigh. He is tended to by the physios, and he walks off this pitch. Whether it's merely precautionary or the Bengaluru FC player has indeed suffered a knock and will be subbed off remains to be seen.

This is going from bad to worse for India as Anwar Ali pulls up while tracking back during a Hong Kong attack. The physios immediately signal for a change. Khalid Jamil makes a double change, with Jeakson and Ashique coming on. Anwar and Williams are off.

Local boy Ashique looks to be on a mission to find the back of the net on his home town. Three attempts in as many minutes from him, but none of them have troubled the Hong Kong goalkeeper yet. The Blue Tigers retain the ball.

A collision between Akash and Alexander leaves both men down the deck, with the Hong Kong player the worse for the wear. Akash wants to walk it off, and Alexander also looks ok to resume play. Time for the drinks break.

A brilliant chance for Hong Kong to equalise for India. A terrific free-kick from the right is floated in by Everton, and three visiting players attack the ball. It seems to come off the head of Jason Kam, but it is straight at Gurpreet.

Ashique finally finds the back of the net, but it won't count. A long throw by Bheke from the left finds its way to Ashique, whose shot beats the goalkeeper. However, a foul by Jhingan in the buildup results in the referee blowing his whistle.

The fourth official holds up his board to indicate a minimum of seven minutes to be added on at the end of regulation time. Seven more minutes for India to see through for a vital, morale-boosting victory.

Despite some late pressure by Hong Kong, Gurpreet's goal is never really under any serious threat. The referee blows the full-time whistle, and the Blue Tigers snatch their first win of the qualifying campaign. They still end at the bottom of the group, but Khalid Jamil's men will get some much-needed morale boost from this win.
