Bicycle Washing Machine: Developed in Kerala, this homegrown washing machine has its own power source. In a fitness-cleanliness combo, pedal away furiously to wash clothes.

TV Remote-guided Robot: Developed by a 25-year-old school dropout, it is guided by the modified TV remote control. It can recognise obstacles and move in the desired direction thanks to a light sensor.

BioMass Gassifier: Converts biomass into gas, useful in operating pumpsets in remote fields and houses for pumping water. Can generate electricity too.

Sanitary Napkin Maker: Indigenous technology churns out mini sanitary napkins at just Re 1 per pad. Aimed at rural areas, uses local technology, low-cost materials and minimal manpower.

Blind Man's Stick: With infra-red sensors, the visually challenged are alerted if they are stepping into water or a pit. All via a voice-recorded system.
