Pakistan today dismissed as "totalconjecture" a report in a local daily stating the forthcomingIndo-Pak summit could result in an agreement between bothsides on pulling out their forces from the SiachenGlacier.
Pakistani Defence Spokesman Maj. Gen. Rashid Quereshi said here today thatthe report was a "total conjecture" and that hewas not aware of any such agenda to be included in the forthcomingsummit between Gen. Pervez Musharraf and Prime MinisterAtal Behari Vajpayee.
"As far as I know, no such discussions took place between boththe countries", he said.
The Dawn newspaper report speculated that two sides had decidedon a pullout after realising that the Siachen engagementis contributing significantly to the tensions between thetwo countries as well as costing them a huge amount interms of men, money and material.

In yet another report today, Dawn said both Musharraf andVajpayee would aim to reach agreements on defusing tensionsover a host of issues.
The measures, according to the report, included demobilisationof troops on either side of LoC, controlling infiltration,reduction of violence, facilitating greater interactionbetween Kashmiri leaders on both sides, and a fullyfunctional communication system to avoid misunderstandingin a conflict situation besides Kashmir.
Reacting to the story, Gen. Quereshi said he has not yet readit and wanted time to crosscheck the facts.
