Cyrus Broacha has been one of the earliest stand-up comics in India. He has been doing stand-up comedy since the time when the term wasn’t even known to common people. He is back with a new show on Sony YAY!, ‘Honey Bunny Reloaded’.
Talking to Prateek Sur, Cyrus Broacha opens up about how ‘Honey Bunny Reloaded’ is different from Seth Macfarlane’s ‘The Family Guy’. He also talks about the OG Jholers of the country, and lots more. Excerpts from the short and sweet chat.
How does it feel to be a part of the 'Honey Bunny Reloaded' challenge?
As an artist and a comedian, I absolutely love entertaining kids as they are the most honest. I'm always looking for new ways to engage with my audience. When I heard about the opportunity to collaborate with Honey and Bunny, kids’ favourite toons, I was absolutely thrilled. This famous Cat Duo have captured the hearts of kids everywhere, and it's a true honour to join forces with them to entertain the young minds who adore them so much. Honey Bunny Reloaded came to me with their dance challenge which was the Reloaded version. I had an absolute blast taking on this challenge, and let me tell you, captivating kids can be a real feat. But thanks to Sony YAY!'s incredible vision and creativity, we were able to absolutely nail it. And let me just say, being associated with such a vibrant channel and teaming up with the dynamic cat duo, Honey and Bunny, has been a lot of fun!

How excited were you to collaborate with the OG Jholers of the country?
I must say, I was positively thrilled! It was like being a kid in a candy store, you know? Working alongside none other than the OG Jholers of our country, Honey and Bunny, was super fun. As a performer, nothing brings me greater joy than putting a smile on a child's face, and this collaboration was the perfect opportunity to do just that. The shoot itself was an absolute riot - I mean, who wouldn't relish the chance to engage in some witty banter with these hilarious toons? I have no doubt that the kids will adore this. It's a trio for the ages - Honey, Bunny, and yours truly!

Are you playing numerous characters in 'Honey Bunny Reloaded' like Seth MacFarlane did in ‘The Family Guy’?
Well, let me tell you, this collaboration is truly unique and unlike anything we've seen before. You see, it's not at all like ‘Family Guy’. This is all about Honey Bunny Reloaded finally joining in on the viral sensation with their 'Reloaded Challenge'. Don't get me wrong, I have the utmost respect for Seth MacFarlane and the comedic genius behind ‘The Family Guy’, but Honey Bunny speaks to a different demographic altogether. They’re deeply rooted in the rich cultural tapestry of India, and their infectious charm has won over the hearts of kids everywhere.
What next can we see you in?
There is a film that is supposed to release this year and I cannot reveal the details of that as of yet. There are a couple of more projects that I am working on and hopefully will be announced soon.
