Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav asserted on Sunday that corruption and black money have surged in the country following demonetisation due to the flawed policies of the BJP government. Speaking at a "Maha Brahmin" panchayat held at the party office, Yadav accused the BJP of deceiving and misleading the people.

Yadav criticized the BJP for allegedly undermining the dignity of the poor by distributing free ration, stating that it made a mockery of people's poverty. He emphasized that farmers are facing difficulties under BJP rule and suggested that only by providing employment to farmers could their income increase.

Highlighting the consequences of what he termed as the BJP government's wrong policies, Yadav stated, "The country's debt is increasing. There will be prosperity in the country only after getting rid of the BJP government."

Accusing the BJP of lacking commitment to the state's development, Yadav claimed that flashy conferences in the name of investment were mere eyewash, with signed Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) failing to materialize. He alleged that the BJP's politics revolves around concealing lies and ignoring the truth.

"The Samajwadi Party is a well-wisher of the poor, whereas the BJP government is engaged in providing benefits to the capitalists under their patronage," he asserted.
