When Deepak and Shalini Khattar began imagining a space where generations could come together and play, not just watch or wait, they weren’t thinking about trends or markets. They were thinking about their own childhoods, their own children, and what it means to disconnect from routines and reconnect with each other.
Deepak, a professional in the printing and packaging industry, had spent much of his career focused on systems, structure, and precision. Over time, his perspective began to shift. He aimed to create something that felt purposeful and alive.
Shalini, on the other hand, came from a hospitality background. With a degree in business administration and experience at one of Delhi’s leading luxury hotels, she understood how environment and experience could elevate everyday moments. She had an ability to view things from a guest’s perspective how spaces could make people feel welcome, acknowledged, and comfortable.
Their idea didn’t originate in a boardroom. It grew through years of conversations, observations, and shared values focused on family, connection, and play. “We didn’t want people to just show up and leave. We wanted them to belong while they were here,” Shalini says.
The process was complex. From building a new concept from scratch to managing operational logistics, safety protocols, and personal responsibilities, the journey tested both their current abilities and the new ones they had to learn.
They both say what helped them persevere was a shared belief in their vision: to create a place that was not only designed for fun but rooted in it.
They divided responsibilities based on their strengths - Deepak managed systems, logistics, and broader planning, while Shalini focused on creating the customer experience with empathy and hospitality. Their partnership reflected both collaboration and mutual respect.
Looking back, they both agree that success isn’t defined by visitor numbers or amenities but by quiet, meaningful moments.
“We built this place,” Deepak says, “but people bring it to life in ways we could never have imagined.”

1. What inspired you to launch Boombastic Superfun, and how did the idea first come together?
We wanted to build a space that breaks the usual mold of weekend plans. Too many entertainment options today are either limited in scope or cater to just one age group. The idea behind Boombastic was simple: create a full-blown indoor adventure zone where kids, teens, and adults can all find their version of fun, under one roof. Sector 62 in Gurugram felt like the right spot for this, and we ran with it.
2. How does Boombastic set itself apart from other indoor amusement centers in the NCR?
Most indoor centers pick a lane — arcades, trampolines, bowling, maybe a kids’ zone. We didn’t want to choose. Boombastic combines everything: a full arcade, a four-lane bowling alley, a trampoline park, a kids' soft play area, wall climbing, rope course, arcade games, and more perfect for hosting school picnics as well. Then we added a full-service restaurant — Boomer’s Bites, an indoor banquet hall — The Pavilion, and an outdoor event patio — The Boomer’s Barn, all holding a capacity of hosting 80–100 people each, tailored for hosting corporate events. It’s not just bigger, it’s built to host real experiences across age groups.
3. You’ve said the space is meant for everyone from five to fifty. How did you design it to appeal to such a wide range of ages?
We started by mapping out what each age group actually enjoys. Kids love climbing, bouncing, exploring; so we built a large soft play zone and added colorful, safe obstacles. Teens want adrenaline and action, which led to the wall climbing, rope course, and arcade. Adults want either a chill zone to hang with friends or activities that bring out their competitive side — hence bowling, arcade games, and a great dining setup. We made sure no age group feels like an afterthought here.
4. What kind of safety measures have you put in place, especially for activities like wall climbing and the rope course?
Safety is at the core of how we operate. All our adventure activities use certified harness systems, padded flooring, and undergo daily inspections. Staff are trained to monitor each zone and assist guests, especially kids. We’ve also capped participant numbers in each area to avoid crowding and reduce risk. Every piece of equipment is either international-grade or locally sourced to meet those same standards.
5. What made you want to include a full restaurant as part of the space, rather than just a quick snack setup?
Because people don’t want to pause the fun to hunt for food outside. We wanted families and groups to stay longer and actually make a day of it. A snack counter doesn’t cut it when you’re spending hours at a venue like this. So we built a proper restaurant with indoor seating, a diverse menu, and quality food that isn’t an afterthought; it’s part of the experience.
6. With VR and motion-based arcade games in the mix, how big a role does tech play in shaping your entertainment offering?
Tech does indeed play a massive role in shaping our entertainment offering. Physical adventure is still at the heart of what we do, but immersive tech adds that extra edge, especially for teens and adults. Our arcade is loaded with motion-sensor games, racing simulators, and other interactive setups that respond in real time. It keeps the energy high and appeals to those looking for more than just physical thrill.
7. The Pavilion and Boomer’s Barn feel like thoughtful additions. Are you positioning Boombastic as an events destination too?
Yes, very much so. We’ve hosted everything from birthdays to school outings to corporate events and family reunions. The Pavilion is our indoor banquet that comfortably fits 80–100 guests and is great for formal celebrations. Boomer’s Barn, on the other hand, is our outdoor patio, ideal for casual parties in an open-air setting. Both spaces let people host events without missing out on all the fun Boombastic has to offer.
8. What kind of feedback have you received from visitors so far? Has anything surprised you about how people are using the space?
The response has been overwhelming. What’s surprised us is how many adults have been diving into the activities themselves, not just watching their kids. People are doing multi-hour hangouts, jumping from zone to zone, and really using the full space. We’ve seen entire extended families spending the day here, which is exactly the kind of cross-generational energy we hoped for.
9. Is there a plan to expand Boombastic to other cities, or are you focused on building out this location first?
Yes, we do plan to expand. With the experience and insights we've gained, we’re confident about taking this to other cities in the future. But for now, our complete focus is on making this space everything it needs to be. Once we feel it’s where it should be, we’ll be ready to take on new markets.
