The couple who manage the farm later showed me around their orchards and vegetable patches, where mushrooms, carrots, spinach, and seasonal fruits grow in abundance. The restaurant is inspired by the diet of Japanese Zen monks — simple, pure and quietly indulgent. The sushi, miso soup, fried chicken and sticky date pudding were a perfect blend of elegance and comfort.
