Venice Increases Daytripper Tourist Entry Fee To Combat Overtourism

Venice steps up its fight against over tourism by rolling out a stricter tourist entry fee from April 18. Day-trippers must now pay between EUR 5–EUR 10 (approx. INR 455 to INR 910) or face fines up to EUR300 (approx. INR 29,000)

Beginning April 18, Venice, a highly sought-after destination worldwide, will impose an enhanced visitor entry fee system in a major effort to combat overtourism. The program comes with a view to protect the city's cultural legacy and curb the number of day visitors.​ As a newly introduced programme, it stands to change much for the inbound tourists and movement within the city.
