In a bid to substantiate Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's explosive allegation concerning Indian government's role in orchestrating the assassination of pro-Khalistani leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar, the Canadian government has resorted to both human communication and signals intelligence, as per media reports.

As per the report  by CBC News, the officials of the Canadian government confirmed that the intelligence includes communications involving Indian officials themselves, including Indian diplomats present in Canada. However, it has been reported that the signals intelligence was provided by an unnamed ally in the Five Eyes intelligence alliance, an organization that includes the US, Britain, Australia and New Zealand, in addition to Canada.

The India-Canada Diplomatic Row

The bilateral ties between India and Canada have downgraded to their lowest point in decades since Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's allegation said that there were “credible allegations” of Indian involvement in the killing Nijjar in Canada.

Owing to the escalating diplomatic row, BLS International, an agency that holds the responsibility of processing visa requests in Canada, yesterday posted an online notice saying services have been 'suspended until further notice.'

This development came a day after the Indian government warned its citizens in Canada to 'exercise utmost caution' and insinuated that their safety was at stake in light of the current situation.
