The annual Konark Dance Festival, which showcases the best of Indian dance forms, got off to a spectacular start at the open air theatre against the backdrop of the magnificent Sun Temple in Konark on Saturday evening. The inaugural evening of the five-day festival, organised by the Odisha Tourism department saw some scintillating performances by noted Bharatnatyam exponent Rama Vaidyanathan and her group and Odissi items choreographed by Guru Durga Charan Ranvir. An International Sand Art is also being organised on the Chandrabhaga beach - not far from the Sun Temple - on the sideline of the dance festival.
