The Odisha train accident claimed of 289 lives and injured over 1,000.

Every life lost means a family shattered and a livelihood snatched. While we cannot bring those we lost back to life, we can certainly pitch in to help their families and organisations engaged in helping them.

Even those who survived carry mental scars of the tragedy. A report says that more than a third of patients from the Balasore accident at a hospital in Cuttack are showing signs of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). This shows that surviving the disaster is just the first step on the long road of recovery.

Highlighting the importance of citizen-led efforts to help fellow citizens, here we list the state as well as private organisations that we can donate to do our bit in helping Odisha victims and survivors.
